Gum & More Gum….

My week has been interesting, how about yours? I’ve got many things checked off my “to-do” list, many more items to finish up by tomorrow…it’s definitely a race against the clock at this point.

I’m not sure if any of you have kids…don’t worry if you don’t, this is for when or if you ever do, but I feel the need to inform you that if you have a 2-year-old (almost 3) little boy and if he asks for gum (or better yet, goes into his sisters purse and steals a big pack of bubblicious) you should in fact take it away immediately. Why? Because he will do 1 of 3 things….1. he will swallow it (my preferred choice) 2. smear it on the carpet or stick it somewhere it doesn’t below or 3. while he’s strapped in his car seat …throw it at your head and get it stuck in YOUR hair. Can you guess what happened to me yesterday? Yes, I got gum stuck in my hair due to my child chucking it across the car and landing in the back of my head. To make matters worse, not knowing I walked around with it in my hair all day….through meetings & shoots until 11pm at night I reached back and felt a glob of GUM. Then it hit me, “SO THAT’S what I felt in the car!!!” I then continued to spend a lot of time with myself & my comb while trying to get it out without having to resort to scissors. And Brady will not be chewing gum anytime soon.

True story: The next day, I had a shoot at a clients home, where she also had a 2 year old. As I was walking around the sunroom figuring out where to shoot….I lifted up my foot to take another step and you guessed it….I had stepped in GUM. Seriously, again!?! How is this happening to me?

Here’s to all the women…who may- at times -have gum in their hair but can still rock it out …..

Thank you to some of my favorite ladies for hair & makeup: Amanda Landers, Leah Redding

Greg & Blake

I met Blake not too long ago, and I just adored her from the start! She’s so witty and has a great sense of fashion…in fact, I follow her on Pintrest and wish she could come and dress me every morning. Or better yet, I could camp out in her closet….is that creepy? Maybe but she’s just that awesome, and I have to say Greg is so sweet-they balance each other out perfect!

Hi Lindsey & Casey!!

I hope you didn’t post these like one minute ago…because I’ve definitely been looking at the blog multiple times everyday (maybe bordering on stalking)… This isn’t just because I have been so excited to see our photos, but I really just love looking at your work!! Seeing your photos of our wedding day seriously just gave me goosebumps and I can’t wait to share them with our friends and family. Thank you so, so, so times infinity much for being the best photographers, mediators, advice-givers, bustle-tying-assistants(!), and going beyond your jobs on our wedding day and before that.

Lindsey Lissau Photography will undoubtedly be getting the HIGHEST recommendation from the Morrisons and Leskos to anyone who needs photography of any kind.

xoxo Blake

P.S. Lindsey you are no slacker in the style department. Your shoes? I die everytime I see you!!

Dear Lindsey,
The pictures are stunning. I am completely overwhelmed how you were able to capture the feeling in the air on our wedding day. It was electrifying, magical, and beautiful. Your photographs give me chills! You and Casey are more than just talented. That is the obvious! But what is really the most important part is your ability to tell our story through your lens! That is what sets you apart. I am so thrilled I met you and Casey “that day”. I knew the moment I met you how special you are. I never doubted it for a second. Now I know why! Much Love, Glenda

Beautiful wedding, the cake is truly amazing!

Glenda & Rusty

This was a pretty amazing wedding I must say! To be honest, as a wedding photographer, there are sometimes opportunities that are so rare, you want to pinch yourself! This is one of those times. I am so thankful for Glenda. She commissioned Casey and I on the spot and I’m so Thankful for her sweetness and trust. She’s an amazing person inside and out. I “heart” her. FOREVER. Oh by the way, Rusty and Glenda own Napa Cafe here in Memphis, it’s a fabulous place to wine and dine!

DETAILS…make me happy! Having an amazing cake brought in from N.Y. (made by SYLVIA WEINSTOCK) was a dream come true for probably everybody involved in this gorgeous affair. The attention to even the smallest detail was so fantastic thanks to Angela Mazanti, not to mention the backdrop for the ceremony & reception,  Heartwood Hall, was perfect! I seriously want to get married again, is that weird? Probably no weirder than prancing around in my wedding dress on a regular basis.

*I’m pretty sure we’re going to need to do a 2 part blog post for this one! SO much to share! Enjoy

Lindsey, you’ve done it again! These photos are indescribably exquisite! The bride and groom are so in love and you and Casey completely captured their adoration for each other. Like somebody said in another comment, it makes me want to get married all over again! You are a creative genius behind your camera and all brides who have you with them on their big day are infinitely lucky :-)

Ashley & Slade

I missed y’all….I was so so sick last week…..crazy sick. I didn’t have a voice for half the week (I’m sure Casey was happy about that, haha!) but goodness, I am so thankful that I’m getting well & starting to feel better. We had the pleasure of meeting some lovely brides at the Pink Bridal show Sunday. Just a little shout out to those who took the time to stop by our booth, thank you! And while I’m doing  ”shout outs”, I’d like to just give my sweet, sweet assistant Kelsey a little love and let her know that she is THE BEST for bringing me Halls cough drops and a giant bottle of water to keep my voice intact and from keeping my “coughing fits” at bay.

I’m so thrilled to share Ashley & Slade’s wedding pics…..their nuptuals took place in Covington, TN this past December and it was beautiful! I adored her bouquet! We had such a great time documenting their day…..it seriously made me want to move to Covington and live on the square…so cute!
