Happy Friday! Hopefully everyone has lovely plans this weekend . I have so many shoots to blog, so to kick start our lovely weekend….thought I would post a few of these two love birds. UM….how cute are they, seriously? Anne emailed me to see if I could photograph her because she just got married for the first time and wanted a few bridals and a few shots of them together to document their love. She mentioned they’re not probably my average couple.

I felt honored.

Back on track

Well, Casey mentioned last night that my blog died…again. It’s funny because, I actually LOVE blogging. Well, I’m kind of random in topic sometimes, but for the most part it’s a great way for me to feel like I’m talking to someone since I work primarily by myself ;) I just get darn busy, but I’ve made myself a blog schedule, so I’ll see if that helps.

It’s been crazy busy around here, which I am super thankful for! But sometimes, when I’m busy (& doing business-y tasks) it feels like at any moment it could all just spin out of control, and so I take a break and I shoot. Whatever the heck I want to. Not for anything but sheer love. And it helps me get back on track….

I adore this couple!! I had the pleasure of photographing their rehearsal dinner, and I just felt the love and joy that their families have for these two gorgeous people. I’m not sure who was more excited……our children or Casey and I to have a “spring break” again! I nearly died when Abby started school this year and I looked at the calendar of events and saw “SPRING BREAK”….ahh, how long has it been since I’ve had a spring break? It seems forever and a day ago. Plus, we all needed to get out of the house since our horrible illness of 2012. I brought work with me, but honestly needed to take a break from it all. Sometimes as a creative person, you can get in a rut and for me personally, start in a downward spiral that is very hard to get out of. That’s no good for anyone, not me, not my clients, not my family….not ANYONE. So, I’m refreshed and ready to take my wedding season head on and get my past work finished up! Yay for vacations that clear your mind and soul to come back better and energized!

Moving on….My mother in law, makes fabulous dresses and so my main goal was to capture her amazing work. If I could bottle Abby up in and keep her in “mini me” size, I would. In a heartbeat. (minus the sassy attitude from time to time…eh-em

My little man is starting to look older….it’s so bittersweet, I can’t hardly stand it. I hope I can remember when I’m 70 what it feels like when he asks me to “snuggle” him. Somehow, I don’t think my memory is that good.

On to our lovely vacay that we take every year because Savannah, GA is a part of our souls….we love it dearly and hopefully if we’re lucky enough, we’ll move back again someday.

*this might be part one or something b/c there’s so many! Also, I’ll be posting a slideshow tomorrow and the following of a few weddings.

The Flu that nearly knocked off my whole family….

This past week was the sickest I have been in a long time. And not just me…but the whole family! It was horrible. I made the kids a pallet on the floor next to our bed so I could help them when they got sick. What was so bad was, I could not really even help myself, let alone try to help my kids, it was just that bad. I think the grim reaper was giving me a piggy back ride around the room and was ready to throw me down to finish me off. The only thing that kept us alive was Gatorade, lots and lots of Tylenol and of course hours and hours of sleep. We finally mustered up enough energy to drive to the Dr. where we all got a hefty dose of antibiotics for other issues that started to emerge post flu. Casey pretty much has pneumonia and I am feeling a bit better FINALLY. The kids were able to go to school today which was a plus. So, all in all, I think we’re on the mend. But after a week in my bed, I have a lot of catching up to do.

*My dear clients, if you’ve emailed me in the past week, I’m trying to get caught up, so hang tight, and I’ll be getting back with you shortly! I tried to do my best to email while in bed, but I know I wasn’t able to get to everyone. I’m working fast and furiously, while editing and making slideshows for blog posts this week. I’ll get to you soon, if you haven’t received something from me already.

IPhone + Abby= Dead Battery

This week has been so productive I tell you! I’ve made out my entirely new business plan and budget, which was quite daunting, but definitely a must.

In other news, I have recently come across multiple videos that Abby has recorded on my iPhone. She’s quite the documentary film maker around the house…..she records anything of interest…such as her brother getting punished, singing and twirling to Justin Bieber, & acting like she’s a news reporter in a bad storm (which nearly made me hurl, trying to watch it). I would post one, but I don’t want to make you suffer like that because really, she films my nightlight (yes, I have a nightlight, don’t make fun!!) for approximately 2 minutes….which seems like eternity. Until we have some extra cute, non-shaky video I’ll spare you. I’m sure she’ll be honing her skills and draining my battery at warp speed.

My father in law, is making these gorge wooden bangles….I tell you, I’m obsessed…..I have been wearing them with everything!
