Someplace Warmer

Happy Tuesday! I hope y’all had a fantastic holiday break, we certainly did. I love being able to snuggle with my babies in our pajamas until noon and smelling the sweet maple syrup on their chunky cheeks from our morning waffles. There’s nothing better. It’s my heaven. Especially since they are growing so quickly, it’s unreal. Sigh.

In other news, it was 25 degrees this morning. NOT OKAY!! I  just can’t handle that!! I need to be flopped down on a beach somewhere. Like immediately. And since I can’t be flopped down on the beach, the next best thing is wearing flip flops and listening to some Jack Johnson and Bob Marley. No lie, that’s what I’m doing while editing. All I need now is some sunblock and a fruity drink with an umbrella. I’m feeling better already. How about you?

In honor of spring…Here’s a little sneak peek that I shot for The Pink Bride….

Here’s to a beautiful, and hopefully warmer Tuesday afternoon…..cheers!

The Pink Bride

Happy New Year!!

I feel like my dad when I say this in public (or on the internet) but seriously, where has the time gone? 2012 is only like hours away. HOURS people!!

For the first time in the history of my business, we’re shooting a wedding on New Year’s Eve….eek! I’m not going to lie, I’m excited. Why? Because I’m getting paid to do what I love…..while being with my honey…..while being with other people who are happily getting married…..while being with all the guests that are so excited for their friends tying the knot but also because it’s new years eve!! The only part I’ll miss is watching Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve spectacular…..but I’ll admit the last few years I’ve not made it to the actually ball drop…I know people…I’m seriously an 85 year old woman trapped in a younger persons body. It’s terrible. I can drink 5 cups of coffee and go straight to bed- I know, it’s not normal I tell ya!! I’m immune to caffeine.

In other news, I’ve been trying to catch up on some girly movies….I have to beg and plead and throw a tantrum for Casey to even considering watching suggesting girly-ness and then go into a long explanation as to why  this “girly” movie is  A.) going to be different than every other girly movie and   B.) then persuade him with….”there are cute girls in it” ….or the classic ” it’s SOO FUNNY, you’ll laugh your til your stomach hurts”.  I usually never win, but this past week, I WON!! I brought out the champagne and toasted to my victory!! We watched No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman. I heart her. I’m giving it a rating of  “not bad”….not my favorite but it did have some hilarious moments. Or I drank too much champagne which made it more funny than it actually was….and then I cried at the end. I cry at the end of every movie, even if I’ve seen it 187 times.

Speaking of movies….when I suggested over the Christmas holiday we should snuggle up by the fire and watch a good holiday movie… you know what his suggestion was?….just guess….you’re never going to get it…..he suggested Die Hard.  Really, Really? Apparently, Die Hard takes place around Christmas. I wouldn’t know because I’ve never seen and am not about to start watching the Die Hard series now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s a great action movie or they wouldn’t have made like 10 sequels but it’s not really the type of Christmas-y movie I was hoping for. We opted for The Grinch (b/c it’s my FAV!!!) and then I managed to talk everyone into Frosty because it’s only 30 minutes long and I crossed my heart promised not to cry at the end when frosty melts.

I hope y’all had a lovely holiday season. I want to just take a sec to thank all my beautiful brides and clients over the past year for making it wonderful and allowing me to capture all your gorgeous memories and do what I love. Thank you. So much. From the bottom of my heart. I appreciate you.

immefssab - Hwantto say thank you for this interesting article! =) Peace, Joy.

Christmas lists & Randomness

Hi friends! It’s been the busiest December to date, which is very exciting! I’ve had 3 weddings, lots of portrait shoots, holiday cards, mini sessions……oh and we’re packing the house about to move, not to mention we’re only like 5 or 6 days from Christmas. Hi, my name is Lindsey and I live a crazy life ( and I put up my Christmas tree yesterday…can you say “what’s the point?”) Normally, Christmas is my OBSESSION. Casey usually thinks I’m too over the top about this lovely holiday (although, I seriously think he likes it because this year he’s been asking “what’s wrong with you”…..”where’s all the overplayed holiday music & the festive decorations??) But quite frankly, I just didn’t have time. I didn’t have time to play and surf the interweb for hours to come up with the perfect holiday decor. I just barely had time to go through the attic and get down what I used last year. This holiday season, it’s not been glamorous…’s been all Ebay + Amazon= Lindsey’s Christmas shopping.

Speaking of Christmas shopping …’s my childrens “santa lists” (….and they’re constantly changing up until the very last second).

Abby’s List:

1. go-go puppy  (this is barking in the hall closet right now as I’m writing this)

2. trampoline (um…WHAT?? is she TRYING to give me a heart attack!!?)

3. guitar (already stocked up on the advil)

4.sparkly nail polish (very doable)

5.easy bake oven (sigh, I remember doing this everyday for like years with my mom, thank goodness I think they’ve updated and improved the design, it used to be such a hassle).

6. and about 10 other things…..and what is this she’s telling me about a “doggie doo toy?” have you seen this? I thought Abby was lying to me when she told me about this. I can’t even talk about it, and no, I can’t believe it’s a toy….for sale. Feel free to look up the commercial on youtube. You’ll die.

Brady’s list:

1. cars.

I don’t know, it seems boys are simpler…. I could be wrong?

* If you’re new, welcome…, you can catch up on old postings here:

Below, is Michael and Rachels engagement session, they seriously are adorbs! So is their puppy Bella…love her.

driving lessons Worcester - Everyday is a happy day if you have little ones in the house. they’re very adorable, washes away life’s stress.

itunes & making chili

So, I’ve been out of town for a week at my parents home in the north GA mountains. It was lovely. I’m not normally a “mountain girl“…more of a “I could live in a hut on the beach and be happy forever gal“. But I see why my parents love it. You have the best of both worlds….peaceful and serene & a short drive to the ATL (for some AH-MAZING shopping). However, it’s good to be back & sleeping in my insanely comfortable bed.

In other news, I went to the grocery store today. Just in case y’all don’t know….cooking’s not one of my strong suits. But, give me a crock pot and I can whip you up a little somethin’, somethin’. YUMM, chili. Well, I haven’t made it quite yet, but what could possibly go wrong tossing a hunk of ingredients into a pot? Just call me Martha.

I felt so blessed this past week, my college roomy stopped through Memphis to see me . Love, Love, Love catching up with old friends over great food and spirits. I get so nostalgic over past times. Not that I don’t love my life now, I love every piece of it and love where the journey has brought me. Sometimes, I just think how simple life was. It’s funny how memories change over time, how you probably once thought in that present moment “I can’t wait to do this or do that” and now you look back and think ” ahh, life was good”. Life’s funny that way.

Speaking of funny….Casey caught onto my obsessive itunes ordering and changed his password. Yes, yes, I constantly buy new music to listen to while editing and um.….CHARGE IT TO HIS CARD. I mean, what else would I do, duh? He won’t tell me his password, funny thing is….I don’t know mine either, so I guess no music for me.
